TAKING QUILTING FROM A HOBBY TO A BUSINESS
Let Christine share with you the adventure of taking what began as a hobby to a business in the quilting world. Through her PowerPoint presentation Christine will show you her journey into pattern designing, teaching, magazine work, book publishing and breaking into the American quilting market. This is an interesting lecture and a glimpse into what it is like to work full time in the quilting business. A trunk show of Christine’s work is included in this presentation.

MY JOURNEY INTO QUITING

Get to know Christine through her lecture and trunk show as she gives a little glimpse into her life as a quilt maker, mother, wife, pharmacist and designer. Christine has a large collection of quilts and enjoys sharing them with the audience. Her journey into quilt making is interesting and inspiring and her stories bring smiles and laughter to her listeners.

 INTRODUCTION TO PUNCHNEEDLE

Pattern by Fairfield Road Designs

Christine has written a book on the subject and designed a line of patterns and students can pick any one of the many that are available. During the class students will also learn lots of finishing techniques and lots of useful tips!
A super easy and portable project for people on the go!
Pattern purchase required $11.00.
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner

INTRODUCTION TO WOOL APPLIQUÉ

PLEASE NOTE: Some wool projects are available as kits if wool is difficult to find. Kits must be ordered one month in advance of the workshop. Kit prices include the pattern.
Wool appliqué projects are wonderful to create. The hand dyed wools are lovely to work with and the colours are so rich and beautiful. Because wool does not fray you do not need to turn under raw edges. It is soft and needles easily. All you need is the pattern, felted wool, embroidery needles, embroidery floss, scissors and freezer paper and you are ready to begin.
These projects stitch up quickly and make excellent workshops for beginners.
Pattern purchase required $11.00.
SKILL LEVEL: Beginner/Intermediate
